The Grade Control Products GCP98 is a complete charging and battery kit built around the GX1000 4-bay combo charger — designed for survey and construction operations running both Trimble S-Series robotic total stations and Trimble Rover/MT1000 GNSS receivers on the same crew. This kit eliminates the need to manage two separate charging systems by combining everything into one smart charger that handles both battery types simultaneously across four bays.
The GX1000 charger features smart charging technology that gives each battery the appropriate charging profile based on its current health — extending battery lifespan and preventing the overcharging damage that shortens battery life in standard chargers. Battery sensing technology evaluates each battery individually before charging begins, selecting the correct profile automatically. All four batteries charge at the same time, so your crew starts every shift with a full set of charged batteries across both instrument types.
The three included GCP52 batteries are Trimble-compatible S-Series Li-Ion batteries, compatible with the full Trimble S-Series robotic total station lineup — S3, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9, SX10, VX, and SPS Series instruments. The included GCP13 battery is a Trimble-compatible Rover/MT1000 extended-use battery compatible with the Trimble R2, R8, R8s, R780, R7, 5700, 5800, MT1000, and TSC1 data collector — providing approximately one additional hour of use compared to a standard OEM battery.
What's the difference between the GCP98 and the GCP97?
They're the same charger with the same bay configuration (3 S-Series, 1 Rover/MT1000) — the GCP98 includes the four batteries, while the GCP97 is the charger alone.
